Preschool California alerts us that AB 2592 may go to the full Assembly for a vote as early as tomorrow, June 3 -- so legislators need to have input asap.

The bill is the Buchanan amendment to the original legislation that established the ELQIS (Early Learning Quality Improvement System) advisory committee. That law requires the committee to submit a final report on various issues relating to early care and education programs (0-5) to the Governor and the Legislature by December 31, 2010.
The Buchanan amendment requires the State Department of Education to implement a quality rating scale based on the committee's recommendations for the purposes of measuring the quality of ealry care and education providers and programs. (Italics are in the original draft of the bill and represent the amendments.)
