REMINDER: SB 929, signed by Gov. Brown in early October -- the booster seat law that requires any child riding in a car to be in a booster seat until he or she is 8 years old or reaches a height of 4 feet, 9 inches -- goes into effect on Sunday, January 1, 2012.
The bill implements recommendations from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Transportation Safety Board, as well as first responders, Safe Kids of California, the Child Alliance of the YMCAs,and the California Coalition for Children's Safety and Health.
