Deasy on LAUSD elections: Los Angeles is America, only sooner
March 7, 2013: "... people are very excited and energized about what's happening in Los Angeles. I mean, Los Angeles, as I've always said, is America, only sooner. The reforms that are taking place in our schools have been getting attention because they are getting results...people are interested in making sure that continues to happen... wanting to invest so that LA continues to serve students well... a very good thing for our country." -- John Deasy, Superintendent, Los Angeles Unified School District, interviewed by KPPC radioafter yesterday's school board elections in which over $5 million was donated by political action committees and unions to support candidates for the three contested seats.
